Elemental (June 16)

As a society, we tend to enjoy giving life to various inanimate objects. For example, there’s a teapot, a candelabra, a clock, and a feather duster. So, why not give life to the four basic elements that make up the world, earth, fire, wind, and water? That’s the basic premise of this fun and enjoyable film from the studios that brought you such classics as Coco, Inside Out, and Soul. In this truly amazing film the fiery young woman Ember Lumen (Leah Lewis) and Wade Ripple (Mamoudou Athie), embark on a journey of discovery as they traverse their city where all elements live in complete harmony with one another.

When it comes to the elements, you’d be hard-pressed to find any two that shouldn’t mix well together like Fire and Water. However, throughout the film, we’ll see these two elements become the best of friends, despite their complete differences. But, are they really that different from one another? Elemental, like its predecessors, Inside Out and Soul, will take the viewer on a journey of self-discovery, while all the while entertaining us in ways we didn’t expect. So get ready to hit the theaters when Elemental hits theaters beginning June 16, 2022.

Animated Movies in Theaters:Teenage Mutant Turtles (August 4)

We don’t know much right now about the plot of the latest incarnation of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film. One thing that we do know is the title and potential theme. The title of the newest film will be Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. According to star Seth Rogan, the film will focus much heavier on the teenage aspect. It will have a more coming-of-age feel. According to an interview that Seth Rogan did in 2020 with Collider, he was quoted as showing his love for the story.

“As a lifelong fan of Ninja Turtles, weirdly the ‘Teenage’ part of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was always the part that stuck out to me the most. And as someone who loves teenage movies, and who’s made a lot of teenage movies, and who literally got their start in their entire profession by writing a teenage movie, the idea of kind of honing in on that element was really exciting to us.”
