Marvel Studios just dropped the first trailer for their highly anticipated film, The Marvels this week. Of course, fans all over the world are buzzing with excitement. The trailer features none other than Brie Larson, reprising her role as Captain Marvel, alongside Lashana Lynch and Iman Vellani.
The Marvels hits theaters on November 10th, 2023.
Who Are The Marvels?
In The Marvels, we will see the return of Brie Larson as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel. Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel, and Lashana Lynch Maria Rambeau/Photon.
Air Force Pilot Carol Danvers gained superhuman strength and the ability to fly after being exposed to a powerful energy source. Since then, she has become a key member of the Avengers. The latest film features Larson teaming up with Kamala Khan and Monica Rambeau round out the rest of the main cast.
Kamala Khan, also known as Ms. Marvel, is a fan-favorite character from the Marvel Comics. Her inclusion in the MCU marks the first time that a Muslim superhero will be featured in a major Hollywood film.
On the other hand, Monica Rambeau, has been a character in the MCU since she was a child. She first appeared in Captain Marvel as the daughter of Carol Danvers’ friend. In The Marvels, we will see her fully embracing her superhero identity. Eventually taking on the mantle of Photon, a name that she has used in the comics.
