To say hello to 2023, we welcome all the exciting films coming our way. Here are all the new movie releases 2023 coming to theaters soon and for the rest of the year. This will be updated throughout the year.

January 2023

M3GAN

Just when you thought it was safe to combine robotics with a doll, along comes M3GAN to prove that you were wrong. When Gemma (Allison Williams) becomes the sole caretaker for her niece, she introduces her to her latest project at work, a doll that can , for intensive purposes, interact with its primary user as if it was a living person. However, as it always happens, the doll, M3GAN, begins to separate herself from her programming and takes on a life of her own. What is M3gan’s end goal, and will she reach it before she is stopped?

Women Talking

For centuries, women everywhere were told to keep quiet and not have a voice of their own. While that may have worked for many in days past, for a group of women in an isolated religious community in 2010, staying quiet and doing nothing is no longer an option. Now, join Ona (Ronney Mara), Salome (Claire Foy), and Mariche (Jessie Buckley) as they come to terms with their faith as they try to reconcile it all.

A Man Called Otto

Based on the best-selling novel and already a hit movie in Sweden titled “En man som heter Ove”, A Man Called Otto stars Tom Hanks as the titular character. Having lost his wife, Otto has lost all of his joy for life. He wants nothing more than to be left alone. His only true joy is visiting his deceased wife’s gravesite and telling her all about what has been happening. Then one day Otto (Tom Hanks), the neighborhood grump, meets the lively new neighbors. His world is forever turned upside down, but in the best way possible. Now the proud owner of a cat and the unwitting plaything for the neighbors girls, Otto has finally found a renewed sense of joy in life. This film will have you crying and laughing from start to finish.

The Devil Conspiracy

After sealing Lucifer (Joe Anderson) away centuries ago, the Archangel Michael (Peter Mensah) is summoned once again when a twisted cult steals the Shroud of Turin, and abducts an art historian to use in an attempt to resurrect Lucifer once again. Will Lucifer succeed in ruling over the Earth, or will Michael once again arise victorious and deliver us all once more from this evil?

House Party

What better way to ring in the new year than with the ultimate house party. For two down on their luck house cleaners by day and aspiring club promoters by night, Damon (Tosin Cole) and Kevin (Jacob Latimore), are about to throw the ultimate house party in order to raise money to pay for Damon’s daughter’s school. When they discover the house they are cleaning belongs to the one and only Lebron James, who is away on a meditation retreat, they decide that this is their chance to truly show what they can do. So, with the location decided, all the pair needs to do now is invite the creme de la creme of Hollywood and they’re on easy street. But, could it really be as easy as they think?

Imani

In the days of social media, conspiracies have become all the rage. But we all seem to forget that conspiracies have been around since the dawn of time. In Imani, Brittany S. Hall plays Fatih Newford, an Army special ops lieutenant who has been a life as a wife and mother after developing amnesia from what she believes was a car accident. However, the truth is far worse than she could have imagined.  

The Old Way

After living a life of danger, former gunslinger Colton Briggs (Nicolas Cage) is finally in a place where he can live a comfortable life with his daughter Brooke (Ryan Kiera Armstrong). Unfortunately for Briggs, The son of a man he once murdered has turned up to take his revenge. Now, after his wife is murdered in revenge killing, Briggs and his daughter are now prepared to take revenge of their own, and it’s not going to be pretty.

Plane

One of the greatest actors of our time, Gerard Butler has starred in countless blockbusters, from Olympus Has Fallen, 300, and Reign of Fire, as well as Nim’s Island, P.S. I Love You, and The Phantom of the Opera. When pilot Brodie Torrance (Gerard Butler) prepares for his next flight, he’s advised that he will have a fugitive that is being transported on board. During the flight, the plane is suddenly struck by lighting, forcing an emergency landing. Unfortunately for the crew and passengers, the flight lands in the middle of a warzone. Now, with the passengers taken hostage, it’s up to Brodie and fugitive Louis Gaspare (Mike Colter) to team up and rescue the passengers at any cost necessary.

Fear

After the disastrous year that was 2020, the world has finally been able to move past the era of the “pandemic”. Now, from director Deon Taylor comes Fear, a film that brings us right back to the pandemic mindset. After suffering through a pandemic, a group of friends decide to head out on a little retreat in the remote Tahoe Mountains. After getting settled the group begin to finally relax, until a mysterious and contagious airborne pathogen threatens to destroy their lives forever.

Missing

Do you really know who you can trust in your family? Do you even know your family all that well? These are just some of the questions that June (Storm Reid) must face in the thrilling rollercoaster of a film Missing. Needing a vacation, June’s mother Grace (Nia Long) heads out with her new beau on a trip to Columbia (not our first choice for a vacation, but to each their own) where she goes missing under mysterious circumstances. When June begins trying to get help to find her mother, she is hit with a mound of international red tape. When the truth is uncovered, Grace will learn that she never really knew her mother at all.

Distant

Hurtling through space, an asteroid miners ship crash lands on an alien planet. Now, with his oxygen quickly running out, asteroid miner Andy Ramirez (Anthony Ramos) must fight his way across the uncharted planets terrain in an effort to locate any other survivors before he becomes food for the creatures hunting him.

Last Resort

To everyone, family means something else. To some, family is all they have and they will do whatever they have to in order to ensure their happiness and safety. For others, family is just something they see as a means of gloating to their friends that they have what they crave. For Michael (Jonathan Patrick Foo), the former is where he stands. When his wife and daughter are taken hostage in a bank robbery by Cooper (Clayton Norcross), Michael sets out to take on the mercenaries as his own one man army.

80 for Brady

They say “Life begins at 50”, but what about if you’ve made it well past that point, and still haven’t had that one great experience? Is it too late to go after what you truly want? Well, not if you ask the stars of the new hit film 80 for Brady. 80 for Brady stars Jane Fonda, Lilly Tomlin, Rita Moreno, and Sally Field as four friends who have decided to make it their mission to travel to the Super Bowl to watch, and meet, legendary quarterback Tom Brady in what they believe to be hsi final Super Bowl (Should we tell them the truth now or later?)

Knock at the Cabin

If you were approached and told that the world would end if you failed to make a choice of who lives or dies, could you live with that decision? That is exactly the dilemma that befalls married couple Andrew (Jonathan Groff) and Eric (Ben Aldridge) and their daughter Wen (Kristen Cui) when approached at their cabin rental by a group claiming to be there to help stop the apocalypse. What will their choice be? Sacrifice one of themselves, or let the world burn?

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania

Following his adventures with the Avengers, Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) is content with living his life free from any galactic threats. However, one should never get too comfortable, as you never know what could happen when you least expect it. After showing off the project to send radio waves to the Quantum Realm, she has been working on, Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton), along with Scott, Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), and Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) are sucked into the quantum realm when a surge causes the signal to spike. Now, the group must fight their new enemy and find a way home before it’s too late.

Of an Age

Love comes in all shapes, sizes, and timeframes. From director Goran Stolevski comes the coming of age story of a young 17-year old Serbian ballroom dancer and the whirlwind, insatiable and intense short-term relationship he has with the older brother of his best friend. Will this be just a one night stand, or can the relationship withstand the test of time?

Cocaine Bear

Based on true events, there is more to the story of the bear that ingested cocaine. After a plane that is being monitored for potential drug smuggling, the pilot and co-pilot begin dumping their cargo of cocaine from the plane over a Georgia forest before bailing out. Once on the ground, a 500 lb black bear ingests one full brick of cocaine and almost immediately goes on a murderous rampage killing police, forest rangers, tourists and paramedics. Ride the high when Cocaine Bear hits theaters this February.

Jesus Revolution

The true story of Greg Laurie (Joel Courtney), a young man who was raised by his single, struggling mother in 1969. Then, in 1970 Greg joins a group of hippies as they descend their way onto a Southern California community, and along the way brings life to a pastor’s languishing church and its community. In the end, America will have its greatest awakening spiritually ever.

Creed III

Since taking the boxing world by storm, Adonis Creed’s (Michael B. Jordan) life has been going well. He has the perfect family, and a career he can be proud of. Now, with the release of his old friend from prison, Adonis decides to give him a chance at a new life within the boxing community. However, Damian (Jonathan Majors) has a different agenda. He aims to make his old friend pay for him going to prison, while Adonis has remained free to live his life.

Scream VI

After the brutal murders of their friends, Sam and Tara Carpenter (Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega), Gale Weathers (Courtney Cox), Chad and Mindy Meeks-Martin (Mason Gooding and Jasmin Savoy Brown) leave Woodsboro behind and head off to New York in hopes of starting new lives. Champions

Iowa Stallions head coach Marcus Marakovich (Woody Harrelson) was once a man living the dream as an NBA coach. Unfortunately for him, when his team fails to perform to his standards, he loses it. He shoves his co-coach, which finds him without a job. Then to top it all off, he crashes into a parked police cruiser. Now, under orders from the judge, in order to avoid jail time, he must coach a group of individuals with learning disabilities and get them to the Special Olympics.

John Wick Chapter 4

He’s back! First they kill his dog. Then, they put a bounty on his head. Next, he goes on the run after killing a member of the International Assassins Guild. Now, he’s back, and he’s not playing games. Prepare for the most thrilling and epic ride of your life. John Wick: Chapter 4 hits theaters in early 2023.

Inside

With luxury condos comes the need to decorate it with some of the most expensive pieces of art. This could lead to people desiring what you have. In the new film Inside, Willem Dafoe stars as Nemo, a high end art thief that is preparing for his biggest heist yet. Unfortunately for him, things don’t go quite as planned. While in the middle of acquiring his booty an alarm is triggered. It locks down the condo and essentially locking Nemo in. There’s no air conditioning, no water, and nothing more than the art, his tools, and his own inventiveness.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves

Dungeons and Dragons, also referred to as DnD, is one of the most popular tabletop role playing games of all time. IT has a rather storied past in Hollywood, with several films and even an animated television series in the 1980s. While most had star power behind them, all failed to capture the true essence of the game. Now, with Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, the franchise is about to see its biggest adventure yet.

A Good Person

A Thousand and One

A Thousand and One follows the life of Inez (Teyana Taylor), a single struggling mother who had fallen on hard times and had her child Terry (Aaron Kingsley Adetola) taken away and placed in the foster care system. Convinced that the only way she could receive redemption is to kidnap her son, Inez does just that. Now, with her son back with her, the duo set out to New York to reclaim their home, identity, and lives.

On A Wing and a Prayer

Flights can be one of the fastest ways to get from one place to another. You can visit family and friends that you haven’t seen in years. This is one of the safest modes of travel. However, it can also be one of the scariest ones for many people. In On A Wing and a Prayer, when the pilot of a passenger plane dies suddenly, one passenger takes it upon himself to take charge of the plane and land it safely in an effort to save himself, his family and the plane full of passengers.

Chevalier

During the reign of Marie Antoinette (Lucy Boynton), Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges (Kelvin Harrison Jr.) attends an elite prep school from a young age where he excels in his studies and his music. Through his life he reaches heights within French society unheard of for a person of color. Because of his talents, he quickly becomes one of the most successful composers of all time. However, an ill fated love affair brings it all crashing down.

The Pope’s Exorcist

The Vatican has a storied history involving exorcisms throughout the centuries. One of the most popular priests to have performed more exorcisms than any before is Father Gabriele Amorth. Father Amorth is thought to have performed between 100,000 to 160,000 exorcism’s as the Vatican’s Chief Exorcist. The Pope’s Exorcist tells the story of this real-life priest and stars Russell Crowe as Father Gabriele Amorth.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie

Since the birth of video games, we’ve seen consoles like the 1970s era Atari and ColecoVision. There’s the 1980s Nintendo, Sega, and the 1990s and 2000s Playstation and Xbox. From these consoles several games have found new life as movies, or TV series Nintendo’s Super Mario Bros being one of the most popular. We welcome the newest iteration of the legendary game that is sure to be one of the most anticipated films of 2023. So join Mario (Chris Pratt) and Luigi (Charlie Day) as they head to the mushroom kingdom through the underground labyrinth of pipes to save Princess Toadstool (Anya Taylor-Joy) from King Bowser (Jack Black).

Renfield

The story of Dracula is one that we’ve all heard of. We’ve either seen it in books we’ve read while in school. Or maybe in the form of one of several hit Hollywood films. The latest take on this incredible story follows not the man himself, but rather his asylum bound henchman R.M. Renfield. Set in modern day New Orleans, R.M. Renfield (Nicholas Hoult) takes to the streets and becomes enamored, and falls in love with traffic cop Rebecca Quincy (Awkwafina). The film also stars Nicolas Cage in an unforgettable performance as Dracula.

Evil Dead Rise

From director Lee Cronin comes Evil Dead Rise, the latest installment in the Evil Dead franchise. The film is written by franchise creator Sam Rami, and sees two estranged sisters living in the city being tormented by evil flesh possessing demons. Now, the sisters are forced into a battle for survival the likes of which haven’t been faced since the original film.

Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret

Throughout the centuries, religion has been a subject of many wars. They’ve been from the crusades of the medieval days, to the wars we fight inside trying to determine if God is even real. For Margaret Simon (Abby Ryder Fortson), the latter is her own personal war. With a catholic mother and a jewish father, 11 year old Margaret doesn’t relate to either faith. She puts effort to find which religion, if any, is right for her. In result, she he chooses to study people’s religious beliefs. She hopes to resolve the question of her own religion in the process. 

Paint

Paint stars Owen Wilson as Carl Nargle, the artist with the soothing whispery voice who has his own popular show on Vermont public television. After several decades on the air, Carl is beginning to fall into a rut. Then, the radio station decides to hire a new artist in hopes of revitalizing the station. Because of this, Nargle’s own insecurities and fears about his artistic prowess are brought to the forefront. Can Nargle overcome his fear, or is it time for him to retire for good?
