Harry Potter actor Robbie Coltrane has died at 72 years old. The star was known for his role as Hagrid in the Harry Potter series.
Robbie Coltrane’s career spanned over decades
The Scottish comedian and actor first got his start in theater, with his debut in John Byrne’s The Slab Boys. Then, he appeared in films and TV shows like Flash Gordon, Death Watch, Balham, The Young Ones and many others.
His Harry Potter journey
In 1995, Robbie Coltrane earned bigger roles like Russian gangster Valentin Dmitrovich Zukovsky in the James Bond films GoldenEye and The World is Not Enough. In 2001, he tested the fantasy world, portraying the lovable half giant Rubeus Hagrid in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. The film series would go on to make 7 more movies.
